 Focus For The Month:
Scripture Focus For The Month

This month I want to focus on: “April Fools!”  April Fools Day is when someone gets tricked into believing something that is not true. One man said that April Fools Day was the Atheists' National Holiday. Is it possible however, that many Christians celebrate this day many times throughout the year unwittingly? Has the Devil ever tricked you into believing something that is not true? There are about ten different Hebrew and Greek words translated "fool" in the Bible. These words have such meaning as; empty, thickheaded, headless, thoughtless, careless, conceited, self-sufficient, indifferent to God’s will, opposing wisdom and wise instruction. Their significance is best seen in contrast with "Wisdom." The fear of the Lord is the beginning wisdom. Let’s declare that this month we will be the “April Wise” rather than “April Fools”!

Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Proverbs 10:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

Proverbs 26:4 When arguing with a rebel (fool), don't use foolish arguments as he does, or you will become as foolish as he is! Prick his conceit with silly replies! TLB

1 Samuel 26:21 Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

Proverbs 14:15 The fool believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps.

Proverbs 14:1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
