Sunday Elder Christy's Message No Assimilation Required. Was great challenge to stand up and take notice where are we in the culture we are surrounded by.

Daniel.... I love that story there's so much that his life tells us by his actions to be a young man in a foreign land not there of his own free will. Yet holding true to what was taught to him through his parents... The parents of Daniel to have raised the young man in such a way that even when completely removed from his environment he still stayed obedient to what they taught him speaks well of his parents. As he grew his work ethic got the attention of everyone good and also some jealous but he never changed loving is God despite how much the opposition or pressured to change was applied. I want to be one who stays true to the one true Living God despite my environment despite the pressures of life the expectations of society. To stay true to God's word will cause God to look down and take notice.

Elder Christy gave a wonderful message Sunday. She asked some questions and had us thinking. Are we standing out or our we just going with the flow? Do we have an undivided heart? Are we fully devoted to God?
Daniel and his friends stood out, they did not want to be apart of the flow Nebuchadnezzar ways of living. They had an undivided heart for God and were 100% devoted to Him. Daniel and his friends were not ashamed to be different. They were faithful and obeyed God with everything they had. They were not afraid to die for what they believed in.
We are living in a time were having an undivided heart is so needed. The lost need to see different. They need to see a devoted church willing to stand for what's right. We can change things if we just take a stand and not get walked on by the world. Things won't be easy for those that stand out just look at the things that happen to Daniel and his friends but God will have favor on them.

Thank you for starting this discussion. I thought I had started one on Sunday but.....Technical difficulties. I knew you especially like Daniel. But it really shows what level we are at if we can stand, when everybody else is doing something else. By the very act of the crowd doing something, everyone around them automatically assume it's the right thing. that is why we must sound the alarm! Blow the trumpet in Zion! Let people know that just because it has been the crowd's way doesn;t make it right! .

I agree it was a great message . I like the idea of an undivided heart and our feet and our body must follow that heart. Standing out by living and doing the right things will cause our light to shune like never before !! Roll on with Jesus !
