All This Time I've Waited For You

Updated: Aug 21

Even though the lyrics of the song I heard are "All this love is waiting for you" I heard "All this time I've waited for you." It is the month of AV which means "father" and derived from the root which means "to will" or "to desire." We could say it is a month for the divine will of the Father to be executed. This is what gives us hope for the opportunity of growth, change, and transformation! As always, there is another choice. The Father's will and youre will. We have to choose.

Simeon is the tribe associated with the month of AV and the word means to hear; to be concerned; It is not enough to hear. You must have the capacity to obey as well. Otherwise your hearing ability isn't worth anything. I believe there is a divine opportunity the next 16 days to hear things which are not "spoken" as I did with "all this time", "You're not God," and "God is going to get silent." Much of what you will hear may bring concern, but also an opportunity for growth, change, and transformation. It is the divine will of the Father!

According to the Jews, the month of AV is considered the low point on the calendar, specifically the 9th of AV. Historically, these are some of the horrible events that took place on that day which lead us to say the Jews were caught in a cycle of destruction.

On the 9th of AV:

  • 587 BC – The armies of Babylon destroyed Solomon’s temple.

  • 70 AD – Roman armies destroyed the second temple.

  • 135 AD, the day of the final defeat of the Jews by Rome. Jerusalem is totally destroyed.

  • 1095 – The first crusader’s kill thousands.

  • 1290 – All Jews were expelled from England

  • 1492 – Jews were expelled from Spain

  • 1942 – Jews were deported from Warsaw Ghetto, to death camps.

  • 2005 – Expulsion from Gaza began

Ultimately, the curse began with UNBELIEF. Whenever we do not believe the Lord it only makes sense that we would not do what He says, causing us to fall short of the best that God has for us - aka the blessing. When Israel followed the voice of UNBELIEF from the spies, they refused to enter the promise (Promised Land), that which they were instructed to do.

The thing that blows me away is that UNBELIEF stopped them from pursuing what was evident of the promise. All of the spies saw and experienced AND brought back the evidence of the fruit of the land and said “This is wonderful, fruitful land, just as God promised!” Why would God provide only half of His promise?

Deut 1:30-35

30 The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

31 And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe the Lord your God,

33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.

34 And the Lord heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,

35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers, KJV

The Bible says, "in this thing ye did not believe." How many"this thing" do we not believe and therefore, shall not one of "these things" see the blessing. I realize the scripture is talking about "men" that will not see the good land that God promised. I see this across the board as the result of, "in this thing ye did not believe."

The CURSE doesn't not come causeless! It comes when we disobey the command of the Lord.

Deut 11:27-28

27 a blessing if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you today,

28 but a curse if you disobey the commandments of the LORD your God and turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.

Bishop has taught forever that the curse, simply put, is the absence of blessing. Blessing or Cursing, you choose. Metamorphose or disintegrate, you choose! Transform or rot, you choose, grow or crumble, you choose!

A Curse:

a.      Brings a DECREASE of what is good, beneficial and pleasant in life

b.     Takes what was flourishing and makes it barren

c.      Takes what is increasing and releases sickness and death

d.     Takes abundance and drains it away until there is poverty and lack

e.      Is an open door to the devil in your life, looking for ways to oppress

f.       Gives the devil opportunity

In Hebrews 4:2 it says,"... but the word which they heard did not profit them, [a]not being mixed with faith in those who heard it."

First and foremost, it was never God’s plan for His people to live under a curse of disasters and sorrow. It was supposed to be a month of blessing and celebrations!

Living in the Blessing:

a.      Surprising  increase of what is good, beneficial and pleasant in life

b.     What is barren begins to bloom

c.      What was decreasing produces abundance

d.     What was dead experiences overflowing life

God says, "All this time I've waited for you," to turn this "thing" around! Repent and break the curse that keeps you from receiving the promise! God says, "All this love is waiting for you!" We Can Choose to BREAK a Curse, We Can Choose to BELIEVE God’s Promise. When we do, we will grow, change, and be transformed to live in the blessing!

Let's discuss:

  1. What pattern have you seen in your life that is keeping you from what God has promised?

  2. How will that pattern or cycle change?

  3. What are your expectations for the remainder of this month of AV?

  4. What is your part in those expectations?

Thank you for your obedience to the Lord and your time to this blog!

I love my church!

Thank you Rev Connie for such a great word!

1 yes I have definitely seen a lot of patterns that has stopped me from God's promise. But the one was definitely what you brought out on Wednesday night. Divine health is what he truly desires for me. There is that huge curse that was in the family and it was stopped Wednesday night.

Thank you for continuing pressing in until It was broken. Like I said there was others like work, finances and time. But that was definitely in deep!

2 recognize what that is it's sin! Realize that you were tired of what cycle you're in and confess.

3 what are my expectations for the rest of this month?…

  • What pattern have you seen in your life that is keeping you from what God has promised?

I see a lot of patterns that keep me away from God. I can relate to most people that have posted. Like Deacon Heath one is work. If I’m not helping Andrew with his business there is work to be done at the house. Like Pastor Aaron, “Thinking the past will repeat itself, causes me to protect myself by not getting too close and finding myself expecting people not to change and to not get my hopes up.” Like Nate shrinking back opportunities. There is more that I can say that is all holding me back from growing my relationship with God. Like…

What pattern have you seen in your life that is keeping you from what God has promised? Work is a pattern that I see my life that is keeping me from what God has promised. you reap what you sow, so the more work that I sow the more work that I get. seems like there is always something to do and keeping me from God.

How will that pattern or cycle change? I need to focus on allowing God to be with me, and flow through me when I'm working.

What are your expectations for the remainder of this month of AV? For God to flow through me to touch those who I'm around everyday/

What is your part…

  • What pattern have you seen in your life that is keeping you from what God has promised?

Thinking the past will repeat itself, causes me to protect myself by not getting too close and finding myself expecting people not to change and to not get my hopes up.

  • How will that pattern or cycle change?

Confession and repentance and not allow fear of what could happen hinder me from connecting to people.

  • What are your expectations for the remainder of this month of AV?

That the past will not repeat and that God is working in me and through me to produce a new future.

  • What is your part in those expectations?

Trust God and despite people's choices I must…

I love this Pastor Aaron, "That the past will not repeat and that God is working in me and through me to produce a new future." What a great expectation! When we expect the past to repeat, it will--having a new expectation of what God is doing in and through you to produce a new future is an expectation full of promise and hope and not fear. Great post!

1.What pattern have you seen in your life that is keeping you from what God has promised?

The pattern in my life that I have seen was making things first in my life instead of God, instead of after sin happened turning to God I would run and make my own path to try to find love in other places then God.

2. How will that pattern or cycle change?

The way the pattern will change is by asking for forgiveness, truly repenting and running back to Him instead of going my own way.

3. What are your expectations for the remainder of this month of AV?

My expectations for the remainder of the month of AV is to have…
